The start of your adventure

At 9:30 in the morning, our staff will warmly welcome you at the Churchill airport to start the first day of the Beluga Whales tour. After early check-in at the Iceberg Inn, a two-hour tour of Churchill starts, beginning with a fascinating visit to the ‘Eskimo’ Itsanitaq Museum followed by the Polar Bear International research facility and rounding things out with a visit to Parks Canada’s Visitors Center.
For all the following activities, the itinerary needs to match the tide and weather conditions on the day.
At 1:00 PM, enjoy a paddleboarding adventure for a close encounter with playful beluga whales. And then lastly, the 2 hour Northern Lights workshop will be held after dinner.
Wednesday, Aug 2nd 2023
Up close with the whales and historic fort

For all the following activities, the itinerary needs to match the tide and weather conditions on the day.
At 8:00 AM enjoy 3 hours of beluga whale interaction and a historical visit to the Prince of Wales Fort on this tour. See the belugas up close from a safe and respectful boat, guided by experts who know how to protect these gentle creatures.
Explore the stone fort that has witnessed 250 years of history, from fur trading to war. Learn how it was built and defended in the harsh Arctic environment.
At 2:00 PM, kayak with the belugas for another unforgettable experience.
In the evening, Brandon will take you on a boat ride to see more belugas in the twilight. This will be a memorable encounter with these curious animals.

Exploring the wilderness with the Tundra Buggy

At 8:00 AM discover the beauty and diversity of the tundra around Churchill on a Tundra Buggy. This vehicle allows you to access the protected areas where you can see arctic wildlife, such as polar bears, foxes, hares, caribou, and many birds. Learn about the plants and history of this sub-arctic region from your driver.
After your tundra adventure, return to Churchill and shop for unique souvenirs, such as Inuit carvings or polar bear-themed items. You will also get to experience the local culture and scenery of this northern town.

At 2:30 PM, you will have more paddleboarding fun with our friendly belugas.

Eye-to-Eye wildlife viewing, an unforgettable experience

Discover the beauty of the arctic tundra with Angela Mak, a professional photographer and guide, on a thrilling six-hour wildlife photography tour. Angela will be armed with a real gun and live ammunition, as safety is paramount in this environment. You will travel in a comfortable 2018 Ford King Ranch 4×4 and have plenty of time to explore the pristine wilderness.
You will have the chance to come Eye-to-Eye with various arctic animals and snap stunning photos of them, such as majestic polar bears, fluffy snow foxes, agile hares, and elegant snowy owls. The tour starts at 8:00 AM, after a tasty breakfast.

At 3:30 PM, you will join in one last time for Kayaking with our lovely beluga whales.

A spectacular cruise on the Zodiac

At 9:30 AM after a full breakfast at the Seaport Hotel, we boarded a zodiac boat for a beluga whale tour in the Churchill River Estuary. It was an amazing experience to see these friendly and curious animals up close, to hear them sing through a hydrophone, and to enjoy the beautiful views of the Hudson Bay. It was an unforgettable subarctic adventure.
As this amazing adventure comes to an end, we hope you have collected some beautiful souvenirs and enjoyed the rich culture of our town.
