There is no Better time in October to Photograph Polar Bears in the Tundra – This is an amazing time to visit Churchill!
Churchill is a small town with only 800 residents. There is no road access, therefor all tourists and supplies must be transported by air or train into Churchill.
Beginning in October each year, polar bears gather here to wait for the sea to freeze and start their hunting season!
At this time, Churchill’s nickname “more bears than people.”
Tuesday, October 17th
Although Churchill is a popular destination, there are no roads that lead here. The only options for travel to Churchill Manitoba are via air and train. Air travel to Churchill is run by Calm Air. This small Manitoba airline runs flights from Winnipeg and Thompson through Churchill and up to Rankin Inlet in Nunavut.
After two-days of train ride, the excitement of seeing the train slowly enter the platform is unforgettable.
After check-in, the 3 hours of photo tour being, first to visit the ‘Eskimo’ Itsanitaq Museum, followed by the Polar Bear International research facility and Park Canada Visitors Center, also Learn about the lives of local residents and experience local customs.
The excursion is led by experienced photographer, Angela Mak. cruising in her mini buggy visit all of Churchill’s fascinating local historical sites including Cape Merry Batters, Miss piggy plane wreck, Polar bear jail, the MV Ithaca shipwreck, member will have a break at the Northern study center and continue to visit the rocket research range, abandoned ‘Golf Ball’ radar station, and launch road, where it is sometimes possible to view polar bears and other Arctic wildlife.
After completing the busy journey of the day, a full-course dinner will be prepared at the Seaport Hotel for all group members to enjoy.
Aurora Borealis workshops – **Weather Permitted**
Under clear skies, you can watch the colorful artistry of the aurora borealis light up the pitch-black nights.
On each day of the trip, Angela will lead the team to look for the wonderful Northern Lights in Churchill and will provide free photos as souvenirs.
Wednesday, October 18th
At 8:30 am our team members will have Full Breakfast at the seaport hotel
The 6 hours Photo tour will begin at 9:30 am, led by experienced photographer, Angela Mak, cruising in her mini buggy visit all of Churchill’s fascinating local historical sites including Cape Merry Batters, Miss piggy plane wreck, Polar bear jail, the MV Ithaca shipwreck, member will have a break at the Northern study center and continue to visit the rocket research range, abandoned ‘Golf Ball’ radar station, and launch road, where it is sometimes possible to view polar bears and other Arctic wildlife.
Angela will film tourists along the way, and the photos will be given as souvenirs after the trip.
During the shooting process, wild animals will suddenly appear around you at any time
After completing the busy journey of the day, a full-course dinner will be prepared at the Seaport Hotel for all group members to enjoy.

On each day of the trip, Angela will lead the team to look for the wonderful Northern Lights in Churchill and will provide free photos as souvenirs.
Thursday, October 19th
At 7:30 am, we will begin our special, tundra buggy tour to view and photograph the majestic polar bear. From the Iceberg Inn, we will journey to the Churchill Wildlife Management Area and spend the day in the realm of the polar bear. We will have ample opportunity to quietly watch these animals as they go about their day. Lunch will be provided on the tundra buggy.
A simple breakfast of coffee and toast will be served at 06:00AM in our lounge area
After Breakfast around 7:00am, experienced photographer, Angela Mak. will led a cruise in her mini buggy and heads to the tundra area for an exploration tour. The Official Tundra buggy will lead the group to track polar bears in the tundra area. During the process, they can either chase the bears or stop for a while to let the group members silently “ambush” to shoot wild animals.
After completing the busy journey of the day, a full-course dinner will be prepared at the Seaport Hotel for all group members to enjoy.
Iceberg inn is specially leasing a exclusively Tundra Buggy for this special private photo tour, since we chartered the whole buggy, team member will have a lot of time to taking their photo, the driving route and parking angles are fully directed by our instructor.

Friday, October 20th
At 8:30 am our team members will have Full Breakfast at the seaport hotel
45-minute flight tours customized to meet your expectations and desires.
An unforgettable flight across the taiga, tundra, and boreal forest take you into the realm of the polar bear. Rarely seen polar bears up to 681 kg (1,500 pounds) rest and test their strength while patiently waiting for the sea ice to form.
Gerald Azure and Jenafor Ollander offer summer and winter tours. We limit our group size to ensure a minimum impact on the environment and maximize our guests’ time with the sled dogs and musher.

Saturday, October 21th
A simple breakfast of coffee and toast will be served at 06:00AM in our lounge area
After Breakfast around 7:00 am, experienced photographer, Angela Mak. will lead a cruise in her mini buggy and head to the tundra area for an exploration tour. The Official Tundra buggy will lead the group to track polar bears in the tundra area. During this trip, you will be able to stop often to watch and photograph polar bears and other arctic animals.
After completing the busy journey of the day, a full-course dinner will be prepared at the Seaport Hotel for all group members to enjoy.
