Aurora Borealis in Churchill
While northern lights can be viewed year-round, February to March is the ideal time of year to visit due to cold weather and longer nights.
Churchill is one of the BEST spots on the planet to see the Northern Lights (Aurora borealis) Churchill lies directly beneath the Auroral Oval in the Northern Hemisphere. With auroral activity occurring on over 300 nights a year, Churchill offers unique access to this mysterious and compelling phenomena.
Day 1:
The Dan's Diner Experience
The northern lights, or the aurora borealis, are the beautiful dancing waves of light that have captivated people for millennia. But for all its beauty, this spectacular light show is a rather violent event.

Day 2:
Surrounding Area Tour
A two-hour tour of Churchill starts after check-in with a fascinating visit to the ‘Eskimo’ Itsanitaq Museum followed by the Polar Bear International research facility and Park Canada Visitors Center.
Day 3:
Dog Sledding
Gerald Azure and Jenafor Ollander offer winter tours. We limit our group size to ensure a minimum impact on the environment and maximize our guests’ time with the sled dogs and musher.
Day 4:
Across Churchill River
Leroy will take you across the Churchill River to visiting the frozen Sloop Cove and Prince of Wales Fort.
